Dr. Denise Fair Bio

Dr. Denise Fair has had dogs and cats in her life since day one when her parents brought her home from the hospital and she met, Phelps, her father’s police K9. Everyday since then a variety of dogs and cats have been members of the family.

Dr Fair attended the University of Kansas where she received her BA in Psychology. She then attended Kansas State University and received her BS from the College of Agriculture and her DVM from KSU’s College of Veterinary Medicine in 2000. With both of her KSU degrees, she graduated with honors. Dr Fair has been trained in veterinary acupuncture through Colorado State University.

Since graduating from KSU, Dr Fair has worked in a variety of day practices and emergency practices in Colorado and California, however, “home” has been Colorado. Her love of the mountains, the people who live in the mountains, and the quality of life in the mountains (for her and her pets) cannot be matched. When Dr. Fair is not working, she is on a mountain, on a trail, or on a river somewhere. Hiking, running, cycling, skiing, rafting, and camping are just a few of her interests. Her dog, Butters the Destroyer, is usually by her side. Her cat, The Swiffer, usually stays home and makes sure the couch doesn’t go anywhere while she’s away.

Dr Fair is a member of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management. She is also an active volunteer as an EMT-IV with the Summit County Rescue Group in Summit County, Colorado.
